ABOUT
Song6 - Won't Anyone Think of The Beans
In my normal live show, I had been performing a cover of "the Coffee Song" which
is otherwise know as "There's an awful lot of coffee in Brazil", most notably performed by Sinatra.
I decided that I needed to write my own song about coffee. So here it is.
I worked up the lyrics and improvised the base chord progression and then Burr Settles
and I put the whole thing together.
Massive thanks go out to Burr for his excellent banjo, vocal, engineering and mixing work.
LYRICS
Wont Anyone Think of the Beans
MP3
First thing you burn them
While spinning them round
Then you break them
until they are ground
Then you boil them
Until they are drowned
Wont anyone think of the beans?
Their magic is strong
Especially when black
They can rouse the dead
Bring the tired back
Their smell alone
Gets you out of the sack
Wont anyone think of the beans?
Grind without mercy
Then throw them away
They’ve done the job
And saved the day
Their garbage can rest
Is all of their pay
Wont anyone think of the beans?
So here’s to these wizards
Of natures delight
That can keep you going
All through the night
Two sips in time
And the world is alright
Wont anyone think of the beans?
(devolve into random D C E Jam until we get tired)
