Black Cat
NOTES:
Here is a weighty important song. I’m here to address the last bastion of discrimination. The type of discriminiatioin that no one even talks about.
I’m talking, of course, about pet color discrimination.
Black cats get such a bad rap… just their presence inspires fear and intimidation… and yet I’ve met several very nice black cats. (I’ve not met any nice siamese cats… I’m sure they’re out there… I just haven’t met them yet.)
Please, show your local black cat some love. (=
LYRICS:
You think we ride the side of the broom
glowing gold eyes in the gloom
crossing paths to bring doom
then take a time out to groom
you say we’re unlucky
you say we’re a fright
all because we are
the color of night
if you call us a curse
if you call us a blight
then best mind your toes
You’re in for a bite
You think we’re full of disease
Jump on your head from the trees
we’re ornery and hard to please
but we’re not as bad as siamese
The reason we hang around with those odd looking folks
With the hats and the brooms and the long black cloaks
Is because instead of a pet you only give us pokes
You laugh and you point and you make bad jokes
