Peace On Earth

NOTES:

I’m not super happy with this one… but without going into detail, it was a major struggle to get even this much done, due to health reasons. Oh, well. On to #5

This is a fairly bare bones track. I can hear that this song has room for additions, improvements and so suggestions are very welcome. =)

This song is about the Christmas Truce of 1914. There have been lots of songs written about this incident, but the more I read about it and hear about it, the more amazed I become.

I’ve always wondered what would have happened if the truce had lasted and spread. The upper ranks can’t shoot ALL of their own men. It’s a happy dream built on brotherly love…

LYRICS:

They say it is the yuletide
but you’re too cold to care
Shivering in this landslide
not glancing over there

It’s an ordinary Thursday
It’s a day that never ends
Where the world falls around you
and you’re missing your friends

Peace on Earth
Goodwill to men
Peace on Earth
Goodwill to men

The sound of sweet redemption
The hand of brothers love
I’ll help you with your shovel
You’re lending me your glove

You look like my cousin
I sound like your dad
we’ll bury six feet down
A hate we’ve never had
