This Time I Was Wrong (w/ Jake Missile Wings)

Liner Notes:

I collaborated on this with Jake - Missile Wings.

Jake’s notes: Eric Distad sent me lyrics and I put together the acoustic guitar tune and vocals and a couple lines. Then Eric added electric guitar and bass. We plan to add some keys and maybe drums later.

Lyrics:

Some days I stake my life on the meaning of a name
Some days I break a heart and don’t feel a bit of shame
I don’t think that I love, I don’t think that I feel
I don’t have thoughts to draw the line between my truth and what is real

A lost heart too small to see
A lost soul too cold to care
A lost mind too closed to be
A lost man beyond despair

When your world comes crashing down
When the answer doesn’t sync
And all you’ve built around
Is based on what you think

A bitter draught to drink
It’s a bitter pill to take
Swallow the venom in your soul
To cure the poison of the snake

A lost heart too small to see
A lost soul too cold to care
A lost mind too closed to be
A lost man beyond despair

I thought your mind was too slow
And you had nothing left to show
Now the more that I know
I know there’s more to know
