The Muse Explained This is another FAWM song. Burr had urged me to write a piano based song. I was having trouble thinking of
stuff at the time so I gave it a shot. After playing for a while, I stumbled on a chord progression I really liked. I decided to make the song about the difficulty of creating. At the time, my job was really rough on me and I came home
most days completely spent, unable to pickup a guitar, much less write. Ironically, this song grew out of the frustration of not being able
to create. I think it may be some of my best work to date. This song is basically unchanged from how I recorded it for FAWM.
The Muse
She is nowhere near
The thought spins round and round
The music's not so clear
When your feet are on the ground
She dances past my head
A flirt for all her charms
I'm lying on my bed
And wishing for her arms
A fountain flows with water
When the pressure is online
But I've got a report to write
And I haven't got the time
She's blowing kisses now
A feather touch and gone
Like moving from the shade
Into noon-day sun
She smiles so sweet and low
And quickly passes by
And when I look away
She fills my inner eye
I run with the herd
Complain about the drive
Make the business strong again
Busy in the hive
She's abandoned me
For a worthy friend
I'm too tired to care
How it's going to end
