It’s 2007! Happy New Year!
February Album Writing Month 2007 is just around the corner! Go out and spread the word. If you are a songwriter or even just a music fan, be sure to check it out. The main action is at www.fawm.org
Sorry I’ve been a slacker lately. I have a few new demos that I’ll be putting out in January as a belated Christmas present… sort of… and stuff.
Anyway, Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and here’s wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
The show that was scheduled for Oct 26th in Waterton is being rescheduled. Sorry to all those that were coming out to it. Keep an eye on the shows page for the updated date and time.
Hey! Drop us a note and tell us what you think.
To all those that came out to Dunn Brothers and the State Fair, thanks. We had a blast and we hope you did too!
We have one more show – the FAWM Showcase at Ginko’s – which is going to rock so hard, it just might hurt! After that, Jen and I will be on a hiatus while we get down to business on the new CD. I may also be posting a couple new song demos, so keep an eye out for those.
Hope to see you out there.
This is just a quick reminder about two upcoming shows.
First off is Friday August 25th at Dunn Brothers in White Bear Lake. This is one of my favorite coffeeshop venues so I was already psyched. To add to it, I have a special guest joining me – G-Slab. Those of you who made it to the FAWM Showcase got to see Jen and I play a few numbers with the G-Slab crew. We’ll be doing it again, with Jen and I swapping around instruments, including G-Slab’s very nifty log drum setup, to fill out the sound. On top of that, G-Slab is going to be joining us for several of our numbers, adding guitars and drums. It’s going to be a big old jam-out BLAST! It starts at 7:00 PM and it costs 0$… that’s right… FREE. (Though Tips are always welcome.) Details are in the Shows section.
The other show is the Midwest FAWM Songwriters Showcase. This one is a show you REALLY don’t want to miss. It’s also FREE (again Tips are very much encouraged) It’s on Saturday September 9th at Ginko’s Coffeehouse in St. Paul on Snelling Ave. 4 FAWM Songwriters (including myself) will be rockin out 4 hours of music. Russ Brown of the Balet School Troublemakers, Amy Curl, Nancy Rost, and myself will be playing the best of our FAWM songs and having a darn good time! Details are in the Shows section.
Work continues on the new album, albeit slowly. Keep tuned her for updates. That’s all for now. Hope to see you at a show!
Here you’ll find the stuff that Eric wants the world to see that isn’t directly related to his music.

BIO
He’s been called “A Smart Songwriter”, “Intelligent Lyrics and Catchy Melodies”, and “Not the worst thing I’ve ever heard”.
Eric Distad is your run-of-the-mill singer/songwriter in one regard: he plays guitar and sings… sometimes even at the same time!
Where he differs is his songs. With influences ranging from Chamber Music to Heavy Metal, he blends many different elements into new unique combinations, with an alt-folk flair. With a lyrical style that leans to the bitterly ironic fused with unrelenting hope, he endeavors to capture small pieces of Truth in easy-to-swallow tunes… all without being completely boring.
His newest CD – Headaches with Pictures – is due out Fall 2006. You can check out his previous work in the music section or pick up a copy of his previous releases in the Merch section.
